The Auld House

The Auld House is a fine example of a three storey medieval house.

The pantile roof has crow-stepped gables, allowing planks to be placed across the roof to help when replacing tiles.

Part of the garden walls date to the 16th Century.

The marriage lintel over the door is dated 1686 with the initials for George Dishington and Isobel Strachan. The house is much older, the carving on the lintel being added by the newlyweds to celebrate their marriage.
