Museum Opening Dates & Events

Crail Museum is open for 2025 as below - opening Thursdays to Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays.

1st to 5th May

22nd May to 19th October

Opening times:

Thursday to Saturday 11am to 4pm

Sunday 1:30pm to 4pm

Bank Holiday Mondays 11am to 4pm

Talk - Friday 16th May 2025

The second talk of our 2025 season will be on Friday 16th May 2025 at 7:30pm in Crail Kirk Hall.

Dundee historian Alistair Derrick will give a talk: "RRS Discovery - Turning the Tide, From Hunting to Conservation".

The RRS Disovery was built for Antarctic research and launched in 1901, she was commanded by Robert Falcon Scott on her first mission, also on board was Ernest Shackleton. The talk will also cover the major restoration of the RRS Discovery, the transformation of the Polar Museum and the Whaling Industry.

Tickets cost £5 and include light refreshments.

Tickets can be purchased in advance online up to the day before the talk, or in the Museum when open, any remaining tickets will be available on the door at the Kirk Hall from 7pm.
