Mackinnon's School

The building currently used as a British Legion Hall was originally Mackinnon's School.

The school was built in 1824 by Robert Balfour.

The gabled porch with ball finial dates from the 1852 reconstruction.

From 1884 the building housed the library where books to the value of £60 were donated by Andrew Carnegie the Dunfermline born American philanthropist.

Continue to the left of the Legion Hall, but bear right following the main road.
