The Golf Hotel

The Golf Hotel is a former Coaching Inn and one of the oldest in Scotland.

It is believed that there has been an inn on this site since at least the 14th century.

The present building dates from the early 18th century and is in traditional Crail architectural style. Note the fine corbelled corner.

The Golf Hotel was the site where the gentlemen of Crail founded in 1786 the Crail Golfing Society - the 7th oldest golf club in the world.

Our final destination is about 250 yards/metres along the road towards St Andrews on the left in Victoria Gardens - opposite the Crail Community Hall.
