Crail Heritage Walk

Sauchope Standing Stone

Located in Victoria Gardens just a short distance along the road towards St Andrews is an 8th century Pictish Standing Stone.

On one side is a Celtic cross with two animals below. The other side has two horses with riders, one holding a spear. There is a small dog between the horses.

The stone was originally alongside the road out to Fife Ness.
